Options for Male Pubic Hair Removal

Have you or the male in your life, considered the benefits of pubic hair removal? Yes, no, maybe? Pubic hair removal isn’t just about hygiene, it’s also about aesthetics, and nowadays, it’s becoming trendier for men to adopt a hairless, clean-shaven, look.

The most common procedures are temporary ones.

Examples are depilatory creams, shaving and waxing, though electrolysis and other forms of more permanent hair removal are becoming very popular.

The depilatory cream is easiest, just slather it on generously, wait a few minutes and rinse it off. Done.

Unfortunately, shaving the male genitalia isn’t anywhere near as easy as it is for a woman’s own, for obvious reasons. The person who takes a razor to this sensitive area should be ever so careful, and have a very steady hand. One quick slip, and well, you get the picture.

If you’re still willing to go for it, get your equipment ready (in all senses of the word): Scissors or electric trimmers to trim the hair low first, a comb, a good moisturizing shaving cream, new razor and a mirror. Ready? Take it slow, take it steady, keep the skin taut and be very careful. A soothing cream, such as aloe vera applied afterwards can help with any residual sting. One thing you should be aware of, and that generally occurs with shaving, is the emergence of red razor bumps and ingrown hairs.

Waxing is another temporary solution, though it’s naturally a more painful prospect, involving the ripping of your pubic hair from your body. If, you’ve ever cried out in pain from a single hair that got caught in your zipper, then this is not the procedure for you. If you can handle that pain, you might want to consider it, and you can use a home waxing kit, or visit a salon for professional help.

For a permanent solution to male pubic hair removal, you absolutely must have professional help.

Electrolysis, the only FDA approved method of permanently removing hair, has to be performed by a specialist. The procedure is not entirely pain free (but certainly nothing like waxing!) and you’ll likely have to go back for additional treatments, but if you prefer the bare look, then this is the way to go.
